Visiting Neighbors Faces Funding Crisis
Since 2010, Visiting Neighbors has received no funding from NYC Dept. For The Aging or NY State Office Of The Aging. Some limited funding from our local city council members has helped; but no elected state official is now permitted to make discretionary funding to charities. Click to see funding
We are desperately trying to maintain our programs and services.Your support is urgently needed. Please contribute!
You can also help by contacting Mayor Bloomberg (212 788-3000), Council Speaker Christine Quinn (212 564-7757), your local Council member or elected state official, and urge them to restore funding for these vital services. Call us at 212-260-6200 for more information.

Visiting Neighbors is an extremely cost-effective service. Nearly 82 percent of the funds we raise go directly to program services, a much higher percent than most other social service organizations.
We can provide your corporation or business with an opportunity to sponsor an event, such as our Senior Talent Show, or to donate in-kind merchandise or services. Corporate contributions are acknowledged in our promotional materials, and can enhance your visibility and commitment to our local community. Please call our Executive Director, Dr. Cynthia Maurer, at (212) 260-6200, to discuss sponsorship opportunities.
Please call to request our brochure on wills/bequests or to schedule a time to speak with our Executive Director, Dr. Cynthia Maurer, at (212) 260-6200, to discuss Visiting Neighbors in your estate plans.

Our programs and services are funded by a combination of individual donations, community and corporate support, grants form corporations and government funding.
This purposeful blend of support enables us to respond to needs of seniors with greater flexibility than those programs that rely on a single funder, but it also makes de the job of raising enough money to improve and expand our programs a greater challenge.
